Bhutan, best known to the world as the last Shangri-La has a rare combination
of harmony and accord amidst a landscape of incredible beauty. Protected by
the might Himalayas from the rest of the world and enriched by the essence of
Drukpa Kagyu School of Buddhism, Bhutan has managed to remain to sustain the
Himalayan flora and fauna. Dazzling white peaks and lush valleys provide Bhutan's
stunning beauty and an aesthetic value . The delicate sensitivities of this
pristine land and Mahayana Buddhism are the living faith of Bhutanese people
and religious sites and institutions are the daily home of its people. Bhutanese
architectures in Dzongs, buildings and houses are very striking.
VISITING BHUTAN:
All foreign nationals tourists traveling to Bhutan must travel through all-inclusive
package tours. The Royal governments set fixed tariffs.This tarrif includes
the services of accommodation, transport, guide and meals.
VISA:
• Visa is required for traveling to Bhutan and it is processed in Thimpu
and arranged by the agent.
• Passport details should be forwarded to us at least three weeks prior
to the date of travel to process it with the concerned authorities.
• Actual Visa is stamped only upon arrival in Bhutan with the support
of visa clearance, which will be sent you in advance.
• Visa clearance number is also required while issuing Druk Air Ticket.
• Two copies of original passport size photograph are required on arrival.
• Visa fees of US$ 20 per person are to be payed on arrival in addition
to the package costs.
RESERVATION:
All tours must be booked through Tour Operator and the entire land arrangements
will be made by the same agent. For clients traveling in peak seasons and festival
time, it is necessary to book 08 weeks in advance. Autumn and spring are the
peak times for the tourists and without early reservation it can be difficult
to confirm flights and hotels.
TARIFF:
International tourist tariff is set by the Royal Government of Bhutan and is
valid for all-inclusive package.
1. The daily tariff for the tourist visiting in a group of 04 persons or more
is:
US$ 200 per person per day
2.For individual and small groups of less then four pax (04 Pax), there is additional
surcharge above the daily applicable rates as follows:
Single Pax (01 pax) US$ 40 per day
Group of 02 persons US$ 30 per pax/day
GROUP OF 03 PERSONS US$ 20 PER PAX/PER DAY
3. The rates are inclusive of the following:
A) Accommodation on twin sharing basis with meals.
b) Transfers and sight seeing within Bhutan by a deluxe vehicle.
c) The service of the guide / porters / ponies wherever required.
d) Royalty & Taxes to the Govt.
e) Monastery and Monument entrances if any.
MONEY:
Bhutan’s unit of currency is the Ngultrum. 1Nu = 100 Chetrum.The Ngultrum
is pegged to the value of Indian Rupee Approx. 1 $=Nu. 40

ROAD:
Entry / Exit: To/From Bhutan is also possible through Phuntsoling, the southern
Bhutanese boarder town. Bagdogra, in the state of West Bengal (India) is the
nearest Airport. Approx. 04 hours drive from this place. For travelers wishing
to visit Indian states of Sikkim and West Bengal along with Bhutan, Phunstling
service as the convenient point.
Exit from Bhutan can be made through Samdrup jongkhar also. This frontier Bhutanese
town is approx. 03 hours drive from Guwahati, the capital town of Indian North
Eastern state of Assam. Samdrup Jongkhar is the only authorized exit point and
an important link for visiting further Indian North Eastern states.

Bhutanese delicacies are limited with spicy chilies and cheese. However you
will be served a buffet of continental food with some local dishes too. Even

WHAT TO PACK:
The following is a fairly exhaustive list of what you should pack for the trip.
Clothes as per persons, sunglasses, spare glasses or contact lenses, pair of
casual shoes, washing kit, shaving kit, towel, hat, umbrella, camera, film and
accessories, books, maps, insect repellent, hand cream, small sewing kit, safety
pins, torch or flash light with spare batteries, mirror, nail clippers, scissors,
sun screen cream, lip salve or soluble aspirin, antiseptic cream, anti-histamine
cream [for relief of insect bites], anti diarrhea, preparation of relief of
sunburn etc.
CLIMATE:
The southern part to Bhutan is tropical, and in general the east of Bhutan is warmer than the west of the country. The central valley of Punakha,Wangdiphodrang, Mongar, Tashigang and Lhuntshi enjoy a semi tropical climate with very cool winters, while Thimphu, Tongsa and Bumthang have a temperate climate, with monsoon rains in the summer and snow-fall in winter. Winter in Bhutan lasts from mid- November until mid-March, and at this time of the year the climate in dry, with daytime temperatures falling below zero. The monsoon usually arrives in mid-June, with the rain falling mainly in the afternoons and evenings. At the end of September, after the last of the big rain, Autumn arrives suddenly, and is a magnificent season for trekking-lasting until mid-November

Fly in to the Himalayas with Druk Air. After completion of the Airport formalities
you will drive through the fascinating valleys of Paro to the Hotel.
Day 02: Paro to Thimphu ,Tuesday:
After breakfast in the Hotel drive to Drukgyal Dzong (Bhutan Victory Fort),
a ruined fortress built to commemorate victory of Bhutanese warrior over Tibetan
invaders centuries ago.
Day 03: Thimphu to Paro, Wednesday :
After break fast, sight seeing of Thimphu valley that includes, visit to National
Library, Institute for the Traditional Medicine Institute, where centuries old
healing arts such as acupuncture and herbal remedies are still practiced, along
with the the mask maker workshop. Evening drive to Paro. Dinner and overnight

Day 04: Departure: Paro – Kathmandu ,Thursday:

Day 01. Arrive at Paro: (Monday)
Upon arrival at Paro Airport, receive by the representatives of Yak Adventures

Day 02. Paro – (Thimphu :Tuesday) :
After breakfast, drive to the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong. Now in ruins: the structure
was built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal to commemorate the victory over the Tibetan
invaders in 1644; the Dzong name’s means indeed “ Victorious Druk
“. In the evening a two hour drive to Thimphu. Check - in Hotel .Dinner
and over night at the Hotel in Thimphu.
DAY 03. Thimphu Sightseeing (Wednesday):
After breakfast, sight seeing in Thimphu. It includes: Visit to Tashichho Dzong
(Fortress of the Glorious Religion), built in 1641 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal
and reconstructed in 1961 by the Late King, His Majesty King Jigme Dorji Wang
Chuck, who is regarded as the Father of Modern Bhutan.
DAY 04. Thimphu – Punakha [Thursday]:
After breakfast drive to Punakha across the Dochula Pass ; alt. 10,000 ft.,
one of Bhutan's most enchanting views. While in Punakha, visit Punakha Dzong;
built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1637
DAY 05. Punakha – Gangtey [Friday]:
After breakfast drive to the beautiful valley of Gangtey. Enroute, visit Chimed
Lhakhang. Packed lunch would be served at Gangtey. On arrival, visit Gantey
Gompa and explore the Phobjikha valley, said to be the most beautiful valley
in the Himalayas. Over night in Gangtey Guest house.
DAY 06. Gangtey – Thimphu [Saturday]:
After breakfast, drive to Thimphu. After lunch, visit Simtokha Dzong (The oldest
fort of Bhutan built in 1627) and Folk Heritage Museum. In the evening, drive
to Paro.
Day 07. Paro Airport [Sunday]:
Early morning, drive to the Airport and farewell.
